Whether you are a Community Project, Voluntary Group or Support Organisation looking to develop the skills base within its network, we design and deliver training and workshop packages to suit your specific needs and level of understanding.
Typically, our workshops and training packages focus around some or all of the following learning outcomes...but this is by no means an exclusive list and the level of detail often varies, depending on your needs.
Learners will:
Understand what it means to represent an organisation online;
Have an understanding of why effective communication enables your group to further its objectives;
Have an understanding of the different online methods for communicating – social media, websites, email etc. – and be able to differentiate between them depending on the audience;
Have an understanding of how to ‘point’ the audience in the direction of further information using online tools and suggest ways in which this can easily be achieved;
Understand why online content may be structured differently to that in hard copy and be able to suggest ways in which this can be achieved based on the platform;
Understand that online content does not necessarily have to be new content – i.e. it can be adapted from existing materials and does not replace other methods;
Understand the importance of listening and responding through social media;
Understand the ‘gravity’ of the words used online and the consequences of certain actions;
Have an understanding of how to use jargon-free language and make content inclusive;
Have an understanding of e-safety;
Understand your organisation’s purpose and structure and how it relates to social media;
Have an understanding of communication priorities – for example, volunteer recruitment, engaging with funders, publicity for activities/events, etc.;
Understand your audience and ‘influencers’;
Be able to create a variety of fun and engaging content;
Have an understanding of the indicators of success, as well as how to assess what has and hasn’t worked on social media;
Be able to adapt their approach based on what works;
Have an understanding of how online methods can be built in to the day-to-day work of your organisation and begin to develop a strategy.
Having a background in education means that we are able to communicate effectively ideas around using the internet, whatever the prior knowledge of the people in the group.
We work with our clients from the start of any training development to ensure that we match the expectations and requirements of the learners, as well as the practical needs of your organisation.
The design and delivery of a three-hour workshop typically costs £250, including all necessary preparation (but excluding room hire, refreshments etc.). For longer training sessions and extended programmes, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
